Xtreme tweaking of graphics

Picmip 9 is not enough for you? Try these extreme graphics!

A word of advice: before trying this, backup your q3config.cfg file (see FAQ to know where it resides in your PC), so that you can restore all your settings at a later time. Moreover, these settings work only with SG 1.1 not with SG 1.0.

1– Create a file in the same directory of q3config.cfg and name it xtreme.cfg.

2– Paste the following settings into it:

seta r_picmip "9"
seta r_vertexLight "1"
seta r_dynamiclight "1"
seta r_intensity "4"
seta r_mapOverBrightBits "3"
seta r_overBrightBits "3"
seta r_gamma "1"
seta r_ext_framebuffer_rotoscope_zedge "1"
seta r_ext_framebuffer_rotoscope "1"
seta r_ext_framebuffer_multisample "0"
seta r_ext_framebuffer "1"
vid_restart

3– Start SG and type in console: exec xtreme

Have fun!

Hehe it looks very strange if you play with this settings. 🙂 And if you tired of the night before, and you play with this settings your score is very low 🙂

  2. SAPE says:

Yep. I tried it. The maps look like a ghost town. 🙂

After having played 2 hours with settings, I have to say that I wouldn’t recommend them if you want a good score: sometimes players far away from you are almost invisible. 🙂
