Dynamite

It seems that everybody hates TheUgly and his dynamite (http://lameclan.altervista.org/blog/biondos-inferno/#comments)Β  πŸ™‚
Me too. He ruins all games where he enter, and most of the time games with many players, where he can gain the more from using dyna.

It’s not possible to elaborate a real strategy against him, but maybe we can limit the damage.

What cannot work:

  • talk to TheDoctor so he bans him. This is not possible — also if TheUgly forces other players to abandon BalleBude — because dynamite is totally legal
  • focus your game in killing him. He has developed a good strategy to avoid your shots, made of smart moves and boiler plate
  • ask him to change weapon
  • insult him

What could possibly work:

  • try to avoid him, and shoot him from distance
  • don’t let him hear you. If you know he is near you, crouch so he can’t hear your steps
  • kill his preys before he does. If you see him duelling in the street against an opponent, waiting for the right moment to throw his dynamite, don’t aim at him, aim at the other player (so that he doesn’t get the point for having killed him)

When nothing works… go to SpecialBude and wait until he has left Baller πŸ™‚

Hey Desconhecido, the ugly his favourite job in SG is to irritate other people I think. πŸ™‚
But he have a mutate so he can’t irritate other people with his words. πŸ™‚

  2. Desconhecido says:

Theugly – The Dynamite man .
why he dont use other guns ? why he have just use dynamite ? then i call him that. πŸ™‚
i think is the perfect name for him.

Well, my comment is late (i am discovering your lovely site step by step), but hopefully it’s not too late to contribute, especially if the topic is dealing with one of my beloved arch-enemies πŸ˜€

there’s so much to mention, regarding
    1. his questionable personality
    2. his choice to use dyna
    3. a way to get him down
    4. the suspicion he uses cheats

    1. shortest part: arrogant and insulting :-p don’t let it bother you. be better πŸ˜€
doppelkupplungsgetriebe seems like the only one who can force him into showing some respect (by being quiet :P).

    2. + 3. as i first met some ‘only dyna’ players, they appeared quite as beyond any imagination of skill – they seemed like semi-gods πŸ˜‰ here’s the explanation: i just started playing. if you have gathered some experience, it’ll be better.

imho dynaing isn’t that lame. more online players allow a dynamiter to sometimes kill 2 or more at the same time; on the other hand there are more players to take him down over distances. that’s a good point biondo stated here: tiny, narrow maps give advantage to dynamiters, so they could even be a competition to experienced players. but, to repeat my opinion, it takes a lot of practice in my eyes. It involves some experience, sharpened instinct, a good overview, dodging abilities, and a good sense of hearing to estimate the enemy’s way.
so, i once (but only once) used the opportunity to spec him. theugly is strong on middle and short distances (as far as his dyna reaches), so try to avoid him there or be sure to hit him :-p
he is good in dodging your bullets and killin a target he once detected. as far as i can remember, these are his weaknesses: his sort of overview is chiefly bound to his eyes. he often lacks a good hearing, so a better trained dynamiter might knock him off. it maybe sounds pretentious but i always enjoyed tricking him and kicking his ass just by hearing. further on: if not being forced into a duel he moves a bit botlike, i.e. predictable and straight.

@jessejames: well, he isn’t really used to ‘real’ guns, but has improved his style of playing.

    may i correct u, biondo? πŸ™‚
in my eyes those who use dyna traps aren’t pro, they are cowards waiting in a corner till someone comes around. then i reply something like ‘wow, so skillful’ etc. πŸ˜‰
idk if one of you is about to write a lamerick for it, but if there’s one some day, tell me :-p

    4. i guess it’s quite natural for theugly’s thrown dyna to hit the head. maybe thedoctor already helped out here, explaining the hitzones etc. – idk what he told you guys πŸ™‚ but on middle distance it’s thrown on height of the head i assume.

    best regards,
    have a nice summer, guys,

    Dike/Magician

PS: may i participate for fun in some of your next tournaments? it’d be some kind of honour for me. i am curious how you are playing at the moment πŸ˜‰
PPS: it’s just an idea that came to my mind while writing this comment, but: what about doing some fun TDM against wR” in autumn?! i guess it’s a neat opportunity to strengthen the friendship between our clans πŸ˜€

Hi Magician! First of all: can you tell me why your clan (nice!) site is devoted to circus world (just something I’m curious of)? What originated this passion?

Now the answers to your extensive — and informative! — comment.

“doppelkupplungsgetriebe seems like the only one who can force him into showing some respect”: maybe because Doppel is a Baller admin??

“imho dynaing isn’t that lame”: you are right of course.

Let apart the behaviours (like camping), there are 4 weapons considered “lame” in SG. 2 cheap and 2 expensive: knives, dyna, sawed-off shotguns and Gatling guns. No one among them is lame. All of them need some skill.
Dyna gives you ‘cheap dollars’, so that, after having used dyna (even in the case that ‘you blew yourself’) you get some money to spend in colts or whatever. Sometimes I use it in the beginning of a match, when I enter the game in the middle (this happens 80% of the times) or near the end, when I’m tired. And I remember that some nice players began their career in SG as dyna specialists (Jippi??). Dyna is legal, and to learn how to use it well can be a real skill. [I never learnt]. Moreover, when you have a bad ping, dyna and shotgungs give you some more chances. Still, when combined with a bad behaviour, it’s really irritating. ‘Lon too use dyna a lot, but he is a fun player… and it’s an honour to be exploded by ‘Lon’s dynamites πŸ™‚

“so, i once (but only once) used the opportunity to spec him.”: I watched some TheUgly’s demos to find a proof he was cheating, and didn’t find anything. I scanned the whole web for a “new” cheat … but nothing. He is only a true experienced dyna specialist.

“in my eyes those who use dyna traps aren’t pro, they are cowards”: sometimes they are “pros”, believe me. But it was just an example.

“maybe thedoctor already helped out here”: yes he helped:

there is a strong correspondence between use of dynamites and headshots, e.g. compare:
      http://bb.game-host.org/index.php?func=medal&fname=pro_medal_dynamite
      http://bb.game-host.org/index.php?func=medal&fname=pro_medal_head_hunter
It seems, if you throw a dynamite and it hits multiple parts of your opponent’s body including the head, the kill is counted as a headshot

“may i participate for fun in some of your next tournaments?”: You are welcome!! We’ll loose, but OK. It’s nice to play with you. And sometimes you’ll meet @spi, SNH, Donut, Smile, and other players too.

“what about doing some fun TDM against wR” in autumn?”: maybe I’m not so masochist as you could think πŸ˜›

  4. JesseJames says:

Ok it’s good to know that if you shoot at a person with dyna he explode when you shot him in his hands. I will never do that with the Ugly and Nerman.
tnx to the Doctor to answer our question.

  5. JippiJaYeah says:

Strange are the theUgly Hitzones: About 16100 Headshots with Dyna.

  6. Biondo says:

Well, if you shoot at the dyna he has in his hand, that dyna explodes. So it’s nothing strange. Some pro players use dyna in this way: as traps. They put dyna in the ground where they are sure somebody will step, and when you are near it they shoot at it.

Sometimes I had the impression there is something strange in this guy… you shoot and shoot and he never dies. But there is no known cheat that could explain this. Probably just a smart way of moving and avoiding to be shoot and a boiler plate.

  7. ZaPaTa says:

I always focus on him!…It’s fun too from time to time. A strange relation between us…hehe. But it’s true he ruins the game for a lot of players, because his tactics works better once a game is full of players.

A thing I wonder about…when he gets killed, sometimes he ‘explodes’…just like his dyna was just at the same second ready to explode. But it happens so often I wonder about that timing. You shoot him and the same second he BOOOMS.sometimes game after game…Is this ‘real’? Didn’t he mess with some code or something. You know I haven’t a clue about cheating but it smells sometime you see.

  8. JesseJames says:

LOl, indeed it’s so frustrating to play with him. GRRR. We (Zapata and I) tried everything. But last Sunday he played with ‘real’ weapons and then he was not so good :). And he couldn’t say anything because he insulted an other player. SO it was so relaxed, and we won :). We tried to bully him a little bit whit phrases like: ‘lame’, go else,… but that didn’t help.
So buy a shirpsrifle and blow him up with the gun. πŸ™‚
