Mouse problem

Hey folks,

the moment is getting near. My new computer is fully assembled and reinstalled. Got a new mouse, monitor…ready to play!?
Just a strange problem that came with the reinstallation of SG.
My mouse works perfect, but when opening SG and entering the main menu, my mouse blocks, dissapears from the menu and only appears again once I moved it out of the SG screen, into the windows-background (so not playing fullscreen). When I try to move fast over the menu, I often see my mouse for a sec, and then it’s ‘pulled’ towards the edges of the SG screen, like a magnet is pulling it out that window. (same when playing in fullscreen, the mouse appears fast for a second somewhere on the edges).

I tried the normal SG and the beta, and tried 2 different mouses. Problem still there;

anyone can help me out here?

Now I do so JJY. There seems to be some problem in switching between SG fullscreen and a regular windows screen. So I start to play fullscreen now, I only have a problem to switch to my Trillian screen now….

When you need a fast switch from full-screen to windowed mode (and viceversa) use the keyboard: Alt+Enter.

I have the same problem when i play only not in fullscreen on Windows 7.

Why you don’t play in fullscreen?

Yes Biondo, I’ve posted on the SG forum,
but i’ve run some tests this afternoon. Apparently it’s a display problem. I’ve added a setting called ‘Display: enlarge icons 150%’ (this is to easy view my screen from a distance). I’ve canceled this setting, and SG seemed to run perfect. No mouse problem anymore! To enlarge my icons I’ve used a lower resolution. A bit a pity since this new monitor is larger 🙁

Good to know Windows 7 isn’t the problem!

I’ve searched in Internet bud I wasn’t able to find anything useful for you.

At this point I think the best thing you can do is writing in SG Forum explaining your problem in details.
Add infos about SG version you use, and mouse and PC specs (operating system, graphic card, processor, …).

      Sorry.

    Yep, didn’t work. I’ll try re-installing today.
    cheers

  7. Biondo says:

Have you already tried seta in_mouse “-1″?

  8. ZaPaTa says:

    Graphic card is an Intel.
    intel HD graphics 2000

I’m now using windows 7, but I used to work in XP.
Concerning the graphic card, will ask this this evening.
    I’ll tryp updating the Q3config

    Hmm…

First of all are you using Windows or Linux?

If you have tried different mice, it doesn’t seem a problem related to mouse driver, it seems more a thing related to the graphic driver in dialogue with SG engine. Probably you can’t update your graphic card driver, because I suppose it is already in its last version. BTW, which graphic card do you have, Nvidia, ATI, Intel, … ?
Or it is a problem related to the way SG engine handles mouse input.

Try this, in your q3config.cfg replace:

    seta in_mouse “1”

    with:

    seta in_mouse “-1”

And let me know if it works.

Try to download a new mouse driver. Maybe it can help. Find a mouse-type specific software.
    I am not expert.
